Dorsey Hall, constructed in 1911, had become significantly underutilized. Classrooms, meeting rooms, the original campus gymnasium and the Jane Froman Studio were in need of aesthetic and acoustical improvements. Columbia College enlisted SOA to renovate the 19,691 s.f. space while still honoring the historic nature of the building. As a result of successful acoustics strategies, the College now schedules activities in the various rooms nearly every day and for a wide variety of activities: from ping-pong competitions, to presentations and social events.
