Mill Creek Substation Control Enclosure

City of Columbia Water & Light

Columbia, Missouri

The project includes the design of a new free standing substation that will allow the City of Columbia’s Water & Light Department to increase electrical service and accommodate current and future demand within the city. The architectural design of the Control Enclosure includes a building exterior of decorative concrete masonry units (CMUs) with a continuous air barrier and insulation cavity, and roof assembly of sloped and insulated and standing seam metal panels. Clerestory windows provide natural daylight and a small ductless split system will efficiently condition the space. Also included in the scope for the multi-acre site is a brick and wrought iron fence.
