A "rendering" is architect-speak for an illustration (usually three-dimensional) of a design project.
During winter months, who hasn’t gotten a little ‘down’? With days being short, and daylight in diminishing supply, late fall, winter, and early spring can be a dreary time of the year.
What is good design? Is design considered ‘good’ when it is noticeable or when you don’t notice? When it is bold or subtle? Is it obvious or understated? I feel the correct answer is, well…..both.
The answer to this is YES!! If you are in the process of designing a new office building, or renovation a current one, your first thought may be space efficiency: how may employees can fit into this new space? But workplace productivity is dependent on so much more.
Wallcoverings are a great way to add color and texture to any room. When SOA worked on the renovation and addition to Columbia Public School’s Administration Building, a custom graphic vinyl wallcovering made for an engaging backdrop at the new reception desk.
There are few architectural materials as versatile, beautiful and functional as woven wire mesh. It can be incorporated into floors, ceilings, railing infills, curtains, partitions, facades, canopies, or anything else an architect can imagine.
